CSA garden shares
How does it work?
When you sign up for a CSA from Alan Day Community Garden, you'll get 12 weeks of fresh, local veggies, beginning in June and ending in September. Each week, you'll pick up a bag of delicious fruits and vegetables at our Friday night farmers' market. A garden share is suitable for a family of 2-4 people, depending on how much you love vegetables! The majority of the vegetables in your share will come from our partners at Liberation Farms, with some additions from ADCG and other local growers.
How much does it cost?
The sliding scale payment model means that a CSA share can cost anywhere from $0-$800, the amount is up to you. You can pay using cash, credit card, check, or SNAP/EBT. You can pay for your entire share at the beginning of the season, OR you can pay weekly or monthly. If you choose to pay with SNAP, we will communicate with you to work out a monthly payment schedule.
How do I decide how much to pay?

What kind of vegetables will I get?
We typically offer salad greens, summer and winter squash, carrots, cabbage, beets, collard greens, tomatoes, kale, radishes, spinach, garlic, Swiss chard, beet greens, basil, cilantro, thyme, peas, beans, cucumbers, zucchini, peppers, flowers, berries, and fruit. Our main vegetable partner, Liberation Farms, is a collective of Somali Bantu farmers who grow a diverse range of vegetables. As a CSA customer you might receive some items that are traditional to other cultures.
What if I'm a senior age 60 or older?
You might be eligible for Maine Senior FarmShare! In other words, your CSA share is partially paid for by the USDA. Let us know if you're 60 or older on the signup form below, and we'll be in touch with the details!
Does ADCG have an unlimited number of CSA shares available?
The short answer is no. We hope to get fresh vegetables to as many families as possible through our CSA program, but we are somewhat limited by funding restrictions and organizational capacity. We will register CSA participants on a first-come, first-served basis until we reach our limit. At that point, we will welcome folks to add their names to a waitlist!
